England Thrash Iran 6-2 in Group B Opener

England’s national football team today won its game against Iran with a 6-2 victory at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

As reported by Morocco World News, the game, which marked Group B’s opening match, was an opportunity for the two teams to boost their chances to advance from the group stage and seal their places in the next round.

The game began with mixed feelings from both teams, who displayed a likable performance. However, England’s Three Lions proved to be a tough opponent.

England’s Jude Bellingham scored his team’s first goal at the 35th  minute, while Bukayo Saka scored the second goal at the 43rd minute.

Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling scored the English squad’s third goal during the added time of the first half of the match.

The second half of the match marked England’s fourth goal by Saka, who scored at the 62nd minute.

Minutes later, Iran’s Mehdi Taremi scored his team’s first goal at the 65th minute, followed by Marcus Rashford who scored England’s 5th goal at the 71st minute, and Jack Grealish who scored the 6th goal at the 89th minute.

Iran’s Mehdi Taremi scored his squad’s second goal during added time.

The English national team has qualified 16 times for the World Cup, but won the global tournament only once in 1966.

However, Iran has qualified six times, including three in a row since 2014.

After its game against England, Iran is set to face Wales on Friday, and the United States on Tuesday, November 29.

Meanwhile, England is set to play against the United States on Friday, and Wales on Tuesday, November 29.
