Falz Open Upon His Relationship with Simi
Nigerian rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz the Bahd Guy, recently shed light on his relationship with singer Simi, putting to rest long-standing dating rumours.
The rumours began swirling in 2016 after the duo released a joint EP titled “Chemistry,” which led fans to speculate about a possible romantic relationship. In a recent interview with Hip TV, Falz clarified that their connection was purely musical.
Falz recounted how he first reached out to Simi after hearing her hit song “Jamb Question.” “I met Simi around 2013 or 2014. The first time I heard ‘Jamb Question,’ I reached out to her to let her know I had written a verse for the remix that we hadn’t even discussed yet,” he recalled.
Following this initial collaboration, the two artists found a natural synergy that led to more musical projects together. “We went on to do it, shot the video, and from then onwards, every other track was so natural. She’s family. We really clicked musically and had to explore that. It was beautiful,” Falz added.
Falz recently featured on the track “Borrow Me Your Baby” from Simi’s latest album, “To Be Honest.”
Simi’s marriage to fellow singer Adekunle Gold in January 2019 ended the dating rumors. The couple welcomed their first child, Adejare, in 2020.
