Haaland Misses Liverpool Clash as Alvarez Takes Place in Man City Attack

Erling Haaland wasn’t included in Manchester City’s squad to face Liverpool on Saturday after a groin injury kept him out of Norway’s Euro 2024 qualifiers during the international break.

As reported on The Score, Phil Foden is also sidelined for two-to-three weeks after recently having appendix surgery.

Julian Alvarez, Jack Grealish, and Riyad Mahrez have been selected in Pep Guardiola’s attack, with Bernardo Silva and Cole Palmer available off the bench at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City starting XI: Ederson; Stones, Akanji, Dias, Ake; Rodri, Gundogan, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Alvarez, Grealish

Darwin Nunez is among Liverpool’s substitutes after missing Uruguay’s recent friendlies against Japan and South Korea with a foot issue. Diogo Jota starts for the Reds alongside Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo.
