Kenny Atkinson Leaves Michael Jordan Hanging to Become Top Warriors Assistant
Despite all the buzz around a being on the verge of becoming the new head coach of the Charlotte Hornets, American professional basketball coach, Kenny Atkinson will reportedly remain with the Golden State Warriors as the top assistant instead.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Atkinson will replace Mike Brown on the bench, who accepted the head-coaching job with the Sacramento Kings.
Despite having a some other candidates for the opening, Atkinson was the only one to meet with owner Michael Jordan
It should be recalled that the Charlotte franchise and Atkinson reportedly agreed to a four-year deal less than a week ago but never signed a contract, per the report by Woj. Now that the Warriors are NBA champions once again, Atkinson reconsidered and informed both teams of his decision on Saturday.
