Headies Awards Open Submissions for 2024 Edition
The prestigious Nigerian music award show, the Headies, has officially opened entries for its 2024 edition, marking the 17th year of the annual event. Organizers have called on artists, producers, video directors, and other music industry professionals to submit their works for consideration.
For this upcoming edition, the submission period covers musical content released between April 1, 2023, and July 31, 2024. Only works within this timeframe will be eligible for nominations. The Headies, established in 2006 by Hip Hop World Magazine, is known for recognizing and honouring outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry across various genres and categories.
As in previous years, submissions are expected across a wide range of categories, including the coveted Next Rated (which comes with a car gift), Rookie of the Year, Recording of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. The announcement was made on Monday, August 26, 2024, through the Headies’ social media channels. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their entries via the official Headies Awards website before the deadline of Friday, September 20, 2024.
The Headies Awards have historically been a launching pad for many Nigerian stars who have gone on to achieve international acclaim, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Kizz Daniel, Rema, and Mr. Eazi.
