Ice Cube Marks 31st Wedding Anniversary with Heartfelt Throwback Photos
Rapper and actor Ice Cube celebrated a remarkable 31 years of marriage with his wife, Kim, by sharing a nostalgic tribute on Instagram. On Tuesday (November 28), Cube posted a carousel of images chronicling their journey together, expressing his gratitude for 34 years of love.
“31 years of marriage. 34 years of love. Happy Anniversary,” he captioned the affectionate post.
In addition to personal milestones, Ice Cube has received recognition from the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame with the inaugural Ice Cube Impact Award. The award acknowledges Cube’s outstanding contributions to the basketball world, emphasizing his passion for the game and dedication to fostering dialogues on inclusivity, equal opportunity, and racial and social justice.
Upon learning about the award, Cube expressed his gratitude, stating, “Having an award bearing my name only intensifies my commitment to advancing inclusivity and equal opportunity in sports, alongside my unwavering dedication to community activism.”
The Ice Cube Impact Award will be permanently displayed at the Naismith Hall of Fame, honoring subsequent recipients each year through a dedicated exhibit and storytelling about individuals who utilize basketball for positive community impact.
President and CEO of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, John L. Doleva, commended Cube’s unwavering passion for the game and his commitment to leveraging it for positive change. The award will be presented to Ice Cube on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 15, 2024, in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Despite achieving significant success in music, film, and sports, Ice Cube has made it clear that he prefers not to be referred to as the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time). Addressing the title on Twitter in September, he requested, “For those who think it flatters me, please don’t call me a f***ing goat. Carry-on.” Cube reiterated his stance, expressing appreciation for respect but discouraging the use of the term.
