Jalen Brunson’s “Statue of Liberty” Nike Kobe 6 Protro Set for Holiday Release
Nike is preparing to launch a special edition of the Kobe 6 Protro in collaboration with New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, as official images of the “Statue of Liberty” colourway have now surfaced. The release is expected to arrive in December.
For Knicks fans, the drop marks a rare moment: the franchise has not seen a player firmly in the sneaker spotlight for years, long after the days when Derrick Rose and Carmelo Anthony carried their own signature lines. Brunson’s rise as the team’s leader – and as a fan favourite – has changed that dynamic, making this debut particularly meaningful for New York’s basketball community.
Brunson has often expressed a preference for playing in Kobe Bryant’s sneakers over having his own signature model. His consistent rotation of Kobe 4s, 5s and 6s has earned him a reputation as one of the league’s most dedicated Kobe wearers, following in the footsteps of other NBA players known for their loyalty to the line.

His upcoming Kobe 6 Protro draws inspiration from one of New York’s most iconic landmarks. The shoe features a bold teal upper with copper details on the Swoosh, Kobe logo and heel, nodding to the aged patina of the Statue of Liberty. The design blends a familiar city motif with the performance-focused silhouette Brunson is known for wearing.
The Jalen Brunson x Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Statue of Liberty” is slated for a Holiday 2025 release and will retail for $190.
