Jaron Ennis Impresses Mayweather Says Leonard Ellerbe

Leonard Ellerbe says Floyd Mayweather Jr. is impressed with what he’s seen from the young welterweight contender Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis and thinks highly of him.

The 24-year-old Ennis (29-0, 27 KOs) stole the limelight away from unified junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo last Saturday night with his second-round knockout win over Custio Clayton in an IBF welterweight title eliminator on Showtime in Carson, California.

Mayweather Promotions CEO Ellerbe says he received a call from Floyd a while ago, with him raving about how impressed he was after watching one of Boots Ennis’s fights.

Ellerbe says he’d like to sign Boots Ennis to Mayweather Promotions, as they would be able to get him all the important fights that he would want.
