Kanye West and Consequence Unite for New Track “No Apologies”
Kanye West, who has recently maintained a low profile, has re-emerged in the music scene through a new collaboration with frequent partner Consequence. Their track, “No Apologies,” was released on Friday, July 12.
Although Kanye doesn’t rap on the song, he contributes by speaking in the intro and harmonizing with Consequence on the chorus. Consequence delivers two verses, showcasing his lyrical prowess with lines such as:
“I go Rich Paul in the room with Adele/ And this bitch call him in the pool with Michelle/ And her top’s off like she cool with Janelle/ And if it pop off, I’m kicked out the hotel.”
The track is set to be featured on Consequence’s forthcoming album, Nice Doing Business With You, which will also include the Ye-produced “Blood Stain,” first teased in 2022.
This collaboration follows recent news involving Kanye West and Rich The Kid. Earlier this week, Rich The Kid shared a text message from Kanye, suggesting he was “retiring from professional music” and uncertain about his next steps. However, this seemed to be a promotional tactic for Rich The Kid’s new album, Life’s a Gamble, which he confirmed would drop on July 12.
Despite the retirement rumours, Kanye West continues to be active in the music industry. He features on two tracks from Rich The Kid’s album: “Gimme a Second 2” with Ty Dolla $ign and Peso Pluma, and “Carnival” from his and Ty’s Vultures 1 LP. West and Ty Dolla $ign are also executive producers for the project.
Moreover, Kanye’s own musical endeavours are ongoing. He has a new album, Vultures 2, in the works—his second of three planned collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign. Although the album has faced delays, with missed release dates in March and May, Ty Dolla $ign recently assured Billboard that the project is still forthcoming.
