Kate Scott and Jalal Bouzrara to Host 2024 CAF Awards in Marrakech
The 2024 CAF Awards are set to honour Africa’s finest football talent in a prestigious ceremony at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday. The star-studded evening will recognise the continent’s top players, coaches, and key figures who have excelled over the past year.
Two renowned presenters will host the event, which begins at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT / 20:00 Cairo time / 21:00 East African time), bringing their expertise and charisma to guide the night’s proceedings.
Kate Scott, an acclaimed international sports broadcaster, will co-host the ceremony. Known for her extensive work with major networks like CNN, SkySports, and currently CBS Sports, Scott has gained global recognition for hosting high-profile events such as the FIFA Ballon d’Or and the Laureus World Sports Awards.
Scott has recently been at the forefront of CBS Sports’ UEFA Champions League coverage, sharing the spotlight with football greats Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards—a show widely praised by critics.

Expressing her excitement about the upcoming CAF Awards, Scott said: “I’m extremely excited to host this year’s CAF Awards. It will be a privilege to be on stage and in the room alongside some of the most influential names in football. I’m excited to see the continent’s best honoured. African football gives the global game soul. The talent born there is immense, and the culturally diverse way in which the sport is celebrated across the continent makes it one of the heartbeats of the global game.”
Joining her on stage is Jalal Bouzrara, a respected Moroccan journalist with over 33 years of experience in radio and television. Bouzrara, who also co-hosted the 2022 CAF Awards in Rabat, has made significant contributions to sports broadcasting through popular programmes like L’Match and L’Club.
Bouzrara’s career spans collaborations with FIFA, CAF, and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), particularly during major events held in Morocco. Sharing his enthusiasm for hosting again, Bouzrara said: “This is the second time I have had the honour and privilege of hosting this magnificent CAF Awards ceremony. I’m truly proud to celebrate the best of our continent. You only have to look at this year’s nominees to see how African football continues to evolve, with stars shining brightly across the globe.”
Fluent in Arabic, French, and English—with proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese—Bouzrara brings a deep understanding of the region’s sporting culture and its global impact.
The 2024 CAF Awards promise to be a spectacular evening, celebrating Africa’s exceptional football achievements and its continued influence on the global stage.
