Lil Wayne Faces Lawsuit from Former Bodyguard Over Alleged Shooting Threat

Hip-hop icon Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., is now entangled in a legal battle as his former bodyguard, Carlos Christian, files a lawsuit claiming the rapper threatened him with a semiautomatic rifle during a 2021 altercation.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ on Friday (December 1), Christian alleges that Lil Wayne threatened to shoot him, taking the threat seriously given the rapper’s previous conviction on weapons possession charges.

The incident reportedly occurred in December 2021 at Lil Wayne’s Hidden Hills mansion in California. Christian informed the police that the altercation began when Wayne accused him of taking and leaking photos to the media. Christian asserted that Lil Wayne physically assaulted him and brandished an assault rifle when the bodyguard went to the bathroom instead of leaving immediately.

Despite Christian reporting the incident to the police, he chose not to press charges at that time. The source close to Lil Wayne denied the occurrence of the alleged incident, stating that the rapper does not own a gun. Law enforcement sources raised concerns about the lack of marks or injuries on Christian’s body from the purported physical altercation.

Lil Wayne, known for his prolific career, faced legal challenges in the past, including pleading guilty to a federal weapons charge that could have resulted in a 10-year prison sentence. However, former President Donald Trump granted him a pardon in January.

The legal proceedings will shed light on the details of the alleged threat, with the lawsuit leaving the requested damages unspecified as of now.
