LIV Golf’s $50 Million Season-Ending Championship Moved From Saudi Arabia to Trump National Doral

Organizers of the 2023 LIV Golf season have announced that the final event, originally planned in Saudi Arabia, will now take place at Trump National Doral in Florida.

The season-ending team championship, offering a $50 million prize purse, will be held at the former US President Donald Trump’s Miami course from October 20 to 22, instead of Jeddah’s Royal Greens Golf and Country Club.

LIV Golf Jeddah, scheduled for October 13 to 15, will become the 13th and final tournament of the regular season, determining the individual champion.

The seeding for the head-to-head team championship will be based on the teams’ finishing positions in the regular season.

This follows a similar scheduling pattern to the 2022 season, where Dustin Johnson won the individual championship in Jeddah and led the 4Aces team to victory at Trump National Doral.
The 4Aces team is currently leading the 2023 standings with four regular-season events remaining, and Talor Gooch is leading the individual rankings, followed by Cameron Smith and Brooks Koepka.

Since the announcement of a partnership between LIV Golf, the PGA Tour, and the DP World Tour in June, two LIV Golf events have taken place.

On Tuesday, two PGA Tour officials are expected to testify before a US Senate panel regarding the proposed merger, following the resignation of former AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson from the PGA Tour’s policy board in protest of the deal.
