Look of the Week: Anya Taylor-Joy Stuns in Unconventional Wedding Dress
From a 15th-century balcony overlooking Venice’s picturesque Grand Canal, actress Anya Taylor-Joy unveiled her unconventional wedding attire, defying traditional norms with a blush-toned princess gown.
Eschewing the conventional white, the ensemble featured intricate lace-like embellishments inspired by woodland motifs: chocolate-coloured branches, leaves, pink flowers, and shimmering silver crystal dewdrops adorned the tulle skirt and bodice. A hummingbird embroidered across her chest appeared to reach for a thistle, adding a touch of whimsy to the ethereal gown.
However, what remained unsurprising was the label on the gown: custom Dior. Having been named a global ambassador for Dior in 2021, Taylor-Joy has consistently showcased the brand’s creations on various occasions, including fashion shows and public appearances. Dior has played a pivotal role in crafting her memorable red carpet looks, from the emerald green dress and evening coat at the 2021 Golden Globes to the pink couture ensemble with a netted beret at the Venice Film Festival the same year.
The actress sported a pink Dior jumpsuit for a “Super Mario Brothers” movie premiere in Los Angeles in April and a cream lacy Dior crinoline skirt at the 2022 Harper’s Bazaar “Woman of the Year” awards in London last November.
Notably, she stunned in a pleated black tulle Dior couture gown, paired with a striking netted face mask, at Vanity Fair’s Oscars after-party in 2022. Most recently, she graced Dior’s Paris Fashion Week show in an edgy patent leather moto jacket, accentuated with black cat-eye sunglasses and stilettos.

Her second bridal look featured a dusty rose lace gown and silk bodice, designed by Schiaparelli, with a satin corset adorned with gold and pearl bejeweled surrealistic facial motifs.
