Maradona: Medical staff to Stand Trial Over Football Legend’s Death
A total of eight medical personnel will stand trial in the death of Argentinian football icon, Diego Maradona as they have been accused of criminal negligence in his death.
Following a medica’ panel’s findings that Maradona’s treatment was riddled with “deficiencies and irregularities,” a judge has oredered a culpable homicide trial
The footfall icon passed away in November 2020 following a heart attack in Buenos Aires at the age of 60.
Maradona had been recovering at home from surgery on a brain blood clot earlier that month.
Shortly after his death, Argentine prosecutors has launched an investigation into the doctors and nurses responsible for his treatment.
