Margot Robbie and Olivia Wilde Collaborate on ‘Avengelyne’ Movie Adaptation
Hollywood stars Margot Robbie and Olivia Wilde are set to join forces for an upcoming movie adaptation of the comic book series ‘Avengelyne’.
Wilde, known for her recent directorial success with ‘Don’t Worry Darling’, is set to helm the superhero project, which centers around the character created by ‘Deadpool’ mastermind Rob Liefeld. Robbie will produce the film under her production company LuckyChap Entertainment, alongside partners Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara.
Simon Kinberg, renowned for his work on the ‘X-Men’ franchise, is also on board as a producer for the film, which is currently being pitched to various studios and streaming platforms.
‘Avengelyne’ follows the titular character, an angelic figure engaged in a perpetual battle against evil forces, often confronting demons and other supernatural adversaries.
Previous attempts to bring ‘Avengelyne’ to the big screen were unsuccessful, with Gina Carano and Akiva Goldsman attached to earlier iterations.
Robbie, known for her versatility both in front of and behind the camera, expressed her ambition to venture into directing in the future. While she remains captivated by producing, Robbie admitted to feeling tempted by the prospect of helming a film herself, citing her admiration for the directors she has collaborated with throughout her career.
As the project progresses, fans eagerly anticipate the cinematic realization of ‘Avengelyne’, poised to combine Robbie and Wilde’s creative vision with the rich storytelling of Liefeld’s comic book universe.
