Memphis Bleek Shares Hilarious Exchange with Jay-Z Over Beyoncé Tickets, N.O.R.E. Erupts in Laughter
Jay-Z has stirred up quite a buzz with his response to Memphis Bleek’s request for tickets to Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour, leaving N.O.R.E. in fits of laughter.
In a sneak peek of his upcoming interview on Drink Champs, the former Roc-A-Fella signee recounted how he reached out to HOV (Jay-Z) to secure tickets for his wife to attend one of Beyoncé’s previous tour stops.
Memphis Bleek explained, “Yo listen, for me to get Beyoncé tickets was a problem. My wife hit me like, ‘Yo, you know she’s in Philly for my birthday.’ I’m like, ‘Alright, cool, what does that have to do with me?’ You trying to send me in there for the war, baby? So, you know, f*** it, it’s wifey. So, I hit all the top dogs. I ain’t gonna even say no names. All the bosses.”
He continued, “All of them said, ‘Yo, Bleek, you buggin’? You know you gotta hit Jay!’ I’m like, ‘Alright, I tried not to, but now I gotta hit you. I got to! I tried to go around, but now this message gotta go to you, like f*** it.'”
“Yo, big homie, I need some tickets for the show, it’s wifey’s B-day. Ah, nah, n* tryna turn me into the ticket guy now?” Bleek recalled.
N.O.R.E. couldn’t contain his laughter upon hearing Memphis Bleek’s story.
“Them B tix like asking for a Rollie,” Bleek humorously commented after N.O.R.E. shared the clip on Twitter.
Fortunately, Memphis Bleek eventually secured the tickets and shared a backstage photo with JAY-Z.
“Better believe I got my tix,” he proudly declared.
During the same interview, Memphis Bleek discussed how JAY-Z had warned those around him about the impending downfall of the legendary Roc-A-Fella label. However, his caution went largely unheeded.
“I told n: ‘Listen, y’all buggin’! This s‘s about to be over! Y’all wanna separate it? Okay! I’m tryna keep this s* together, baby! Like, the big homie over here telling me, ‘The scissors, they coming.’ It’s like, nobody wanted to listen,” Bleek recounted.
He added, “Now, it’s over, and everybody’s listening — get the f*** outta here!”
Despite JAY-Z continuously brushing off the idea, Memphis Bleek remains hopeful about doing a joint album with his longtime friend and collaborator.
During a brief interview at LAX in August, Bleek revealed that he’s still persistent in trying to convince Hov to record a project with him, even though it’s been years since their last music release together.
“I’m on that boat too. I wish!” he exclaimed when asked about the possibility of a Memphis Bleek and JAY-Z project, which gained traction on social media earlier this year.
Although Memphis Bleek admitted that the chances of it happening are slim, he suggested fans should keep their hopes up, stating, “I don’t think so. Hov too far gone, man! I was supposed to try this when he had $100 million, not a billion. When you got a billion, it’s hard to get you in the booth. Only his wife can do it.”
However, he quickly changed his tone, encouraging fans to stay optimistic, as he believes his persistence will eventually pay off. When that day comes, Bleek assures listeners they won’t be disappointed.
