Microsoft Introduces Background Removal Feature in Windows 11 Paint Application
Microsoft is bringing a new and handy feature to its Paint application in Windows 11, allowing users to easily remove backgrounds from images with just a single click. This enhancement is currently being rolled out to Windows 11 Insiders in the Dev and Canary channels, offering a simplified and efficient image editing tool.
The updated Paint application incorporates a ‘Remove Background’ button in the ‘Image’ section of the toolbar. When users click this button, the application will automatically identify and isolate the main subject in the image while removing the entire background, regardless of its complexity or colour gradients. For added precision, users can also use the rectangle select feature to specify a particular area for background removal.
While similar background removal features exist in various photo editing applications, this addition to Paint simplifies the process for quick and easy background removal without the need for more advanced software.
It’s worth noting that an earlier Paint update (version 11.2306.28.0) included an unintended Microsoft confidentiality banner. However, the newer update (version 11.2306.30.0) addresses this issue, as confirmed by the Paint background removal announcement.
For Windows 11 users eager to take advantage of this convenient background removal feature, patience may be required as Microsoft gradually rolls it out. The Paint 11.2306.30.0 version and subsequent updates will include this functionality, offering an improved image editing experience to users of the popular application.
