Monster Energy Renews Multi-Year Partnership with NSE

National Student Esports (NSE) has officially confirmed the renewal of its multi-year partnership with Monster Energy, solidifying the energy drink company’s status as the official energy drink partner of the British University Esports Championship (BUEC).

Since the partnership’s inception in 2019, Monster Energy has played a pivotal role in supporting the BUEC, becoming a key element in the university esports landscape. During the last academic year, the BUEC witnessed the participation of over 2,000 teams from 111 universities, engaging in more than 5,000 games, establishing itself as a central point in university esports.

Alex Coulson, Managing Director at NSE, expressed the significance of Monster Energy’s contribution, stating, “The Monster Energy team is vital in helping us to create unforgettable moments and experiences within the esports landscape for university students.”

Highlighting the commitment and support provided by Monster Energy to the British University Esports Championship, Coulson emphasized how it validates the importance of esports while enhancing the overall experience for players in the community.

As part of the renewed agreement, the popular clip-competition ‘Monster Plays’ will make a return, showcasing the best talent in the university esports scene. Players submit their top clips each week, with the community voting on the submissions. The winner is rewarded with a year’s supply of Monster Energy.

Additionally, students can anticipate a refreshed tournament series backed by Monster Energy, along with new initiatives that will offer more opportunities for students to engage in esports. While specific details about these initiatives are yet to be announced, the partnership is expected to enhance the overall esports experience for university students.

Monster Energy, known for its recent involvement in Formula 1 through a new sponsorship deal with McLaren Racing, has been actively expanding its presence in the world of sports and esports.

Coulson concluded by announcing the commencement of NSE’s spring season for the British University Esports Championship, featuring competitions in popular titles such as VALORANT, Teamfight Tactics, Rocket League, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and Apex Legends.
