Naira Marley Reacts as Court Clears Him, Sam Larry, and Prime Boy of Involvement in Mohbad’s Death
Singer Naira Marley has spoken out after a Lagos magistrate court acquitted him, Sam Larry, and Prime Boy of any involvement in the death of late musician Mohbad.
The ruling, delivered on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, comes 18 months after Mohbad’s passing, which sparked widespread controversy and allegations of foul play. Following the singer’s death, videos surfaced online showing incidents where he was allegedly harassed by Marley and his associates, fueling public outrage and demands for justice.
Amid mounting pressure, Naira Marley and Sam Larry were arrested in October 2023 over suspicions of their involvement. However, the Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos, ruled that there was no evidence linking them to Mohbad’s tragic demise and subsequently acquitted all three individuals.
Reacting to the court’s decision, Naira Marley took to social media to express his relief and gratitude, posting a verse from the Holy Quran on X (formerly Twitter):
“And whoever puts all his trust in Allah, He will be enough for him. (65:3).”
The ruling has reignited debates surrounding Mohbad’s case, with many still calling for further investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death.
