Nate Dogg’s Ex-Girlfriend Pursues Child Support for Late Singer’s Son

Shereda Williams, the ex-girlfriend of the late Nate Dogg, has taken her case to the Los Angeles Superior Court to seek child support for their 17-year-old son, Jayden.

Court documents, as reported by Radar Online, reveal that Williams is petitioning for $4,358 per month in child support, a figure that had been previously agreed upon and signed by the late hip-hop icon (real name Nathaniel Hale) in 2006.

However, a significant turn of events occurred after Nate Dogg’s passing in 2011. In 2013, the courts reduced Williams’ child support payments to $3,000 per month. Now, due to what Williams is referring to as an error in the court filings, she faces the risk of losing all child support payments and is seeking the court’s intervention to compel Nate Dogg’s estate to fulfill the financial obligations.

This latest development only adds to the ongoing legal complications surrounding the late rapper’s estate.

Nate Dogg passed away in 2011 without a will, leaving no provisions for the six children he had with various women. LaToya Calvin, who was the wife of the “Nobody Does It Better” singer at the time of his death, took it upon herself to become the estate’s executor. However, Nate’s children have been engaged in a protracted legal battle with Calvin, asserting that the rapper had intended to divorce her before his death.

To substantiate their claims, Nate’s children presented evidence to the court, revealing that he had initiated divorce proceedings just 19 days before his passing.

The court has yet to make a ruling on this dispute or any other claims related to Nate Dogg’s estate, including Williams’ request for child support.

In a brighter note related to Nate Dogg, a milestone was achieved in 2022 when his collaboration with Eminem, “Till I Collapse,” set a new Spotify streaming record by surpassing 1.5 billion streams on the platform as of December 15, 2022. This remarkable achievement makes it the most-streamed non-single track in history.

The popular song is featured on Eminem’s 2002 album “The Eminem Show,” which also includes hits like “Cleanin’ Out My Closet,” “Without Me,” and “Sing For the Moment.” Notably, “Till I Collapse” never received an official music video or radio promotion.

In 2012, a decade after its release and following Nate Dogg’s passing, the track was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry of America (RIAA). Just before its official 20th anniversary in 2022, the song achieved an impressive 8x platinum certification.
