Ne-Yo’s Ex-Girlfriend Was Arrested for Allegedly Helping Son Fight Classmate
Sade Bagnerise, the former girlfriend of singer Ne-Yo, was arrested in March 2023 for her alleged involvement in an incident where she attempted to assist her son in a fight with a classmate, as per arrest records obtained by HipHopDX.
Bagnerise, who is the mother of two of Ne-Yo’s children, faced multiple charges related to the incident. She was charged with one count of cruelty to children in the third degree, one count of cruelty to children in the first degree, and one count of battery. For each charge, she was released on a surety bond, with the cruelty to children in the third degree carrying a $1,000 surety bond, the battery charge carrying a $5,000 surety bond, and the cruelty to children in the first degree charge having a $25,000 surety bond.
Additionally, a temporary order of protection was issued against Bagnerise by the victim’s mother, Veronica Madison, although the child involved in the fight was not one of Bagnerise’s children with Ne-Yo.
Madison stated that Bagnerise and her son allegedly hid in the bushes, waiting for Madison’s son to get off the school bus. When he did, they allegedly attacked him, and the incident was captured on video by eyewitnesses who alerted Madison to the assault. Madison also claimed that Bagnerise’s son had been sending her son death threats on social media since the attack, including threats of gunfire.
In response to the situation, Bagnerise posted a brief comment on her Instagram Stories, stating, “I’ll be able to comment shortly.”
Notably, the reasons behind the delay in the information coming to light remain unclear.
This legal battle isn’t the only one that Bagnerise is facing, as she and Ne-Yo have been ordered to mediation in an ongoing child support dispute. A Georgia judge has mandated that the pair participate in mediation before September 22. Bagnerise had previously requested primary custody of their two children and immediate monthly child support, while Ne-Yo had also requested a DNA test to determine paternity for one of Bagnerise’s children in a previous filing. In response, Bagnerise affirmed that Ne-Yo is the biological father of their children.
