The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)and Nigeria’s Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare have intensified efforts to host the 2025 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

We gathered that the President of the NFF, Amaju Pinnck and Dare ad held multiple meetings in Uyo to lobby the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) and other heads of football federations across the continentsome football federation presidents on the continent.

Source revealed that Pinnick and Dare head earlier met with the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) boss, Patrice Motsepe to discuss the country’s ambition as well as its readiness to host the competition.

“It’s over 30 years that Nigeria hosted the Nations Cup all alone. The other was the cohosting with Ghana and so it is expected that Nigeria will be in good position to get the hosting rights. The meetings went well and Nigeria is in good position to get it,” our source revealed.

As we look forward to the outcome of this, we should mention here that other countries on the cards for hosting the 2025 edition of the AFCON include Ghana, Morocco and Benin.
