Nigeria Customs Service Surpasses N5 Trillion Revenue Target for 2024

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reached its 2024 revenue target of N5.07 trillion, marking a milestone in the agency’s financial achievements. Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, announced the accomplishment at the Comptroller General of Customs’ Conference held in Abuja.

Adeniyi disclosed that the target was met on November 12, 2024, with the NCS collecting a total of N5,079,455,088,194.38, and with over a month left in the fiscal year. “This remarkable achievement is projected to exceed our initial target by 10%, validating our partnership-driven approach to revenue collection and trade facilitation,” he said.

Adeniyi highlighted the role of stakeholder collaboration in achieving this milestone, pointing to modernised systems and improved processes within the NCS as contributing factors. “This success underscores how cooperation with stakeholders and streamlined operations can positively impact Nigeria’s economy,” he added.

This revenue collection feat underscores the NCS’s commitment to exceeding financial targets and supporting the national economy through enhanced service and strategic partnerships.
