Nigerian-American Singer Shaboozey’s ‘Tipsy’ Becomes 2024’s Best-Selling Song in the US

Nigerian-American artist Shaboozey has reached a significant milestone in the U.S. music industry with his hit single “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” The track has officially become the most streamed song in the United States for 2024, as reported by music monitoring platform Chart Data.

“Tipsy” has surpassed major hits like Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” and Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” to claim the title of the best-selling song in America this year. Additionally, the song has secured its place as the longest-running #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2024, holding the top spot for seven consecutive weeks. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s “I Had Some Help.”

In July, Shaboozey made history by joining Beyoncé as the only Black artists to simultaneously top both the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts, further solidifying his impact on the music scene.

Shaboozey’s success with “Tipsy” underscores his rising influence in the U.S. music industry, marking him as a significant figure in the global music landscape.
