Nike Revives Air Max Waffle in New Colourway, Set for June 18 Release
Nike is once again turning to the past to shape the future, bringing back the Air Max Waffle – a bold hybrid silhouette that merges two distinct eras of the brand’s legacy. The latest edition of the experimental sneaker is scheduled to drop on June 18, 2025, via SNKRS and select retailers, with a retail price of $145.
First introduced as a fusion of the vintage Waffle Racer and the early-2000s Air Max Plus, the Air Max Waffle was initially met with skepticism from sneaker purists. But over time, the silhouette gained popularity for its unconventional blend of retro aesthetics and contemporary design language.
This time around, Nike delivers a fresh colourway for the modern market. The upper arrives in a vivid Bright Ceramic orange, balanced by soft Sail overlays. A Coconut Milk-tinted midsole adds a creamy, vintage look, while the outsole retains the classic black rubber and Waffle Racer traction pattern – a nod to the sneaker’s heritage roots.

With this release, Nike continues its strategy of exploring hybrid designs rather than full remasters or straightforward retro drops. As new innovations stall, the brand seems increasingly focused on reinterpreting archival styles for today’s sneaker culture.
The Air Max Waffle’s return marks not just a product drop, but a continuation of Nike’s experiment in merging nostalgia with innovation – an approach that has become a hallmark of its lifestyle releases.
