Omah Lay Reveals What Can Heal His Depression

Nigerian music star Omah Lay has revealed that a financial boost could offer temporary relief from his ongoing battle with depression.

The “Soso” singer took to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday to share a candid thought, stating that receiving £10 million or $10 million would “heal” him for at least a month.

“10M in pounds or dollars right now will heal me for at least a month,” he wrote.

Omah Lay, born Stanley Omah Didia, has previously been open about his mental health struggles. His 2022 debut album Boy Alone explored themes of loneliness, emotional pain, and depression through raw and introspective lyrics.

The artist has also hinted that his forthcoming project, Clarity of Mind, will further document his personal healing journey.

In a previous social media post, the singer disclosed that his mental health worsened following a sexual encounter with his therapist – a revelation that sparked wide-ranging conversations about boundaries and vulnerability in therapy.

Omah Lay remains one of the few Nigerian artists using his platform to openly address mental health, shedding light on a subject often considered taboo in the country.
