Omoni Oboli Slams Ghanaian TV Stations for Airing Her Films Without Permission

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli has called out Ghanaian television stations for allegedly broadcasting her movies without obtaining the required licenses.

Expressing her frustration in a post on Instagram, Oboli criticized the unauthorized use of her intellectual property and questioned the role of Ghana’s National Film Authority in addressing such violations. She accused the regulatory body of failing to take decisive action against the offending stations.

The actress further warned that she would pursue legal action to hold the broadcasters accountable, emphasizing the hard work and dedication that go into producing her films.

“I love my Ghanaian besties, colleagues, and friends, but those TV stations in Ghana—I’m coming for you! The guts to show my movies without licensing! If one of you isn’t arrested, you won’t learn! Watch out!” she wrote.

Oboli also stressed that airing films without permission constitutes intellectual property theft, adding that she was determined to ensure those responsible paid for their actions.
