Photographer Files Lawsuit Claiming Dame Dash Owes Nearly $400M in Damages

Legal troubles continue for Dame Dash as photographer Monique Bunn files a new lawsuit, alleging that the Roc-A-Fella executive owes her nearly $400 million in damages due to alleged actions related to the use of her photographs.

The lawsuit, filed by attorney Christopher Brown on behalf of Bunn, seeks to reopen the case of damages against Dash, citing discrepancies in the previous jury’s understanding of the nature and extent of the damages incurred by Bunn.

In a memorandum of law accompanying the filing, Bunn argues that Dash confirmed the value of the withheld photographs and knowingly failed to compensate her properly for their use beyond promotional purposes. Bunn contends that the jury’s decision to award zero damages disregarded clear evidence of the photographs’ value, which she asserts to be $1,500 each, totaling nearly $400 million.

Brown, who also represents the producer behind the film Dear Frank in a separate case against Dash, has been instrumental in securing judgments against the embattled executive. Earlier rulings have ordered the sale of Dash’s shares in Roc-A-Fella Records to satisfy outstanding judgments.

In response to objections from Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke regarding the sale of Dash’s shares, U.S. Magistrate Robert W. Lehrburger ruled that Dash’s ownership stake in Roc-A-Fella can be seized as personal property to cover the outstanding judgment.

The legal battles stem from a series of disputes related to the film Dear Frank, with Dash facing allegations of copyright infringement and defamation. Despite being removed from the project due to alleged misconduct, Dash was later sued for attempting to claim ownership of the film.

As the legal proceedings continue, Dash faces mounting financial liabilities and legal challenges, with attorneys like Brown vowing to pursue full restitution for their clients.
