PlayStation Marks Far Cry’s 20th Anniversary with Free Downloads, No PS Plus Required
In honour of Far Cry’s illustrious 20-year history as one of gaming’s premier open-world shooters, PlayStation has unveiled a special campaign offering free digital collectables to players, no PlayStation Plus subscription required.
As part of the PlayStation Stars initiative, gamers can commemorate Far Cry’s legacy by acquiring two iconic characters from the franchise: Boomer and Chorizo, beloved canine companions who have left an indelible mark on fans throughout the series.
Securing these exclusive 3D models is a breeze—simply immerse yourself in any of the Far Cry games available. Boomer becomes available on March 19, while Chorizo can be unlocked starting March 24. From Far Cry 3 to the latest instalment, Far Cry 6, as well as spin-off titles like Far Cry Primal and Far Cry New Dawn, players can delve into any of these titles briefly to claim their rewards, which will remain in their possession indefinitely.
The Far Cry anniversary celebration is just one facet of PlayStation’s Stars campaign for March. In addition to the Far Cry collectables, players can earn a digital symbiote canister by achieving the ‘Exterminator’ trophy in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Furthermore, MLB: The Show 24 enthusiasts can obtain a digital baseball bat simply by engaging with the game before July 31.
For music aficionados, there’s an opportunity to acquire a digital cassette tape by jamming out in Rock Band 4, Drums Rock, Ragnarock, or The Artful Escape. It’s a chance to dust off those instruments and relive the glory days.
