Portable Under Spiritual Spell, Claims Sister Amid Legal Troubles
Gbemisola, the elder sister of controversial Nigerian singer Portable, has alleged that her brother is under a spiritual spell cast by a family member.
Her claims come amid Portable’s ongoing legal battle with the Ogun State government. The singer was recently arraigned – alongside nine associates – before the Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. However, he has since gone into hiding.
Speaking from an undisclosed location, Portable denied the allegations, insisting that he is being set up. He also challenged authorities to provide video evidence of the alleged assault and, in a concerning statement, hinted at taking his own life due to the overwhelming pressure.
In a viral video circulating on social media, his sister, Gbemisola, publicly apologized for his actions, attributing his behaviour to alleged spiritual manipulation by a family member.
“People of Nigeria, I greet you all. I am Portable’s eldest sister and the first child of our mother. We are just three siblings from her,” she said. “Portable has never stolen before. I have never spoken publicly like this, and he has never even posted me despite being his sister. But he is the one taking care of the family. If not for him, I would have died during my sickness.”
She further alleged that a family member named Akeem was responsible for influencing Portable’s actions.
“One of our family members, Akeem, is the one casting a spell on Portable. He is the one spiritually manipulating him to misbehave and offend Nigerians,” she claimed.
Portable, known for his frequent controversies, remains at large as the legal proceedings against him continue.
