Fans of Arc Raiders may not have to wait much longer to dive back into the game, as a recent Steam update appears to hint at a possible release or major announcement slated for early June.
A brief update to the game’s Steam files revealed an executable file containing a hidden Base64 string. When decoded, the string linked to a countdown timer pointing to June 6 at 5 PM ET / 2 PM PT – coinciding precisely with the start of this year’s Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles.
This discovery has sparked speculation among players that Arc Raiders could either receive a new playtest or an official release date announcement during the high-profile gaming event.
Developed by Embark Studios – the same team behind The Finals – Arc Raiders has already garnered considerable attention. A recent playtest held in early May was met with enthusiasm, with publisher Nexon reporting that the game “significantly exceeded our expectations for key metrics, including wishlisting on Steam.”
Since the playtest concluded on May 5, there has been no formal update from the developers, adding to the anticipation surrounding the uncovered countdown.
