Rapper Killer Mike Meditated in Police Custody After Grammy Awards Arrest

Following his arrest at the Grammy Awards ceremony, rapper Killer Mike revealed that he spent his time in police custody meditating and expressing gratitude to God for his blessings.

The 48-year-old musician, who won three Grammy awards at the event, found himself in handcuffs after an altercation inside the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday. Despite the unexpected turn of events, Killer Mike maintained a composed demeanour and chose to reflect on his religious and moral upbringing while in custody.

Speaking to GQ magazine about his experience, Killer Mike shared, “I could have succumbed to anger or evil and talked [badly]. But I’m just grateful.” He described how he took the opportunity to spend time alone, expressing gratitude to God and invoking the spirit of his grandmother and mother.

He emphasized the importance of family and revealed that shortly after his release, he received the news that his child had finally been approved for a kidney donation after three years on the waiting list.

Expressing his gratitude for this blessing, Killer Mike remarked, “God showed me within 24 hours that there’s something more important than even the accolades you’ve worked for. And that’s my family and my child.”
