Rema Reportedly Paid $3 Million to Perform at Indian Billionaire Ambani’s Son’s Wedding
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema has made headlines with his arrival in India to perform at the wedding of Anant Ambani, son of Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of pharma tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant.
On Thursday night, Rema shared a video on Instagram, showing him in an all-black outfit walking toward a private jet. He added the track ‘Azaman’ from his latest album ‘He Is’ as background music and included an emoji of the Indian flag in his post.
According to the Hindustan Times, Rema will be earning $3 million for performing his international hit song ‘Calm Down’ at the wedding.
Joining him at the event are Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, who is reportedly receiving $10 million for his performance, and pop icon Rihanna, who also performed for an undisclosed fee.
The wedding ceremony, set to take place on July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), caps off a four-day celebration. This extravagant event follows a series of lavish parties hosted by the Ambani family since March.
The guest list includes a host of prominent figures such as Kim Kardashian, former UK Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair, former US Secretary of State John Kerry, former Swedish PM Carl Bildt, and former Canadian PM Stephen Harper, among others.
