In a shocking turn of event, club legend, Cristiano Ronaldo has told Manchester United he wants to leave the club this summer, The Athletic’s David Ornstein and Adam Crafton report.
Based on the report, Ronaldo would only push for an exit if Manchester United receive a suitable offer, according to Ornstein and Crafton.
The 37-year-old reportedly hopes to close out his career with a team that can compete in the Champions League and contend for titles.
Manchester United did not have an impressive outing last season as they failed to qualify for the Champions League after finishing sixth in the Premier League.
The profilic setriker isn’t short of suitors as Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have all been linked with a move for Ronaldo since the 2021-22 season ended in May.
Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, reportedly discussed a potential deal with Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly in mid-June.
Napoli are reportedly interested in signing the Portuguese superstar as well.
Ronaldo has just 12 months remaining on his contract with United.
