Rita Edochie Slams Death Rumours About Osita Iheme: “This Must Stop”

Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has expressed her frustration over the persistent death rumours surrounding her colleague, Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw.

In a recent Instagram post, Edochie condemned the circulation of false reports claiming that Pawpaw had passed away, noting that she had encountered such rumours twice in a short period. She pointed out that some fans were quick to believe and mourn the actor in the comment sections of these misleading posts.

Edochie also shared her own experience with similar rumours, revealing that a photo of her on a movie set was used in a false death report. She criticised the negative impact of such misinformation, particularly on social media, and called for an end to the harmful spread of fake news.

“This rumour has come up before. A couple of days ago, it resurfaced, with pictures of my great son and veteran colleague, Osita Iheme, trending with captions claiming he was dead. It’s crazy how some netizens believed it and started commenting RIP,” she wrote.

The actress emphasised that while social media has its advantages, it has also become a breeding ground for damaging falsehoods. She called on people to stop spreading such rumours, stating that the situation is becoming increasingly out of control.
