Samsung Introduces Mid-Range AI-Powered Galaxy A Series to Intensify Competition
Samsung has expanded the artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities of its smartphones with the launch of mid-range Galaxy A series devices, intensifying competition in the mobile market.
For the first time, the Galaxy A56 5G, Galaxy A36 5G, and Galaxy A26 5G integrate advanced AI features, enhanced durability, and robust security protections, ensuring a safe and long-lasting mobile experience.
Speaking at the unveiling in Lagos, Samsung Electronics West Africa CEO, Tae Sun Lee, described the move as a step towards making AI-powered mobile technology more accessible.
“The new Galaxy A series marks an important step in our mission of AI for all, by opening Galaxy’s incredible mobile AI experiences to even more people around the world,” he said.
New AI Features and Camera Enhancements
According to Oge Maduagwu, Head of Marketing at Samsung Electronics West Africa, the devices come with Circle to Search, an AI-powered tool that instantly recognizes phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs on-screen, allowing users to act with a single tap. The feature also enables music recognition, letting users identify songs playing around them without switching apps.
Samsung has also introduced enhanced camera capabilities, including a 50MP main lens across all models and 10-bit HDR front lens recording on the Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G for brighter, sharper selfies. The Galaxy A56 5G boasts a 12MP ultra-wide lens, further enhancing its imaging capabilities.
Stephen Okwara, Head of Product Management, MX Division, Samsung Electronics West Africa, highlighted that the Galaxy A series now features the AI-powered Object Eraser tool, allowing users to remove unwanted elements from photos with just a few taps.
Samsung’s latest innovations bring AI-driven creativity, efficiency, and security to a wider audience, reinforcing its position as a leader in the smartphone market.
