Scottish Tourist Businesses Report a Fall in Booking
About half of businesses operating within Scotland’s tourism industry have revealed that they have recorded fewer bookings this summer compared to 2019.
According to the Scottish Tourism Alliance (STA) survey, almost 40% of businesses reported a decline in spending since May 2021.
The affected business attributed the decline to the say rising cost-of-living as well as the appeal of international travel.
They maintained that they are currently struggling to keep up with competing on price with global destinations.
More than 700 tourism businesses across Scotland took part in the survey, which ran from 17 May to 8 June.
