Shaquille O’Neal Drops New Music With L.A. Rap Group! … ‘3 Lokos’ (Watch)
Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal is making waves in the rap game once again! This time, he’s teamed up with an L.A.-based rap group, Coyote, for an exciting new song and music video titled “3 Lokos.”
TMZ Sports caught up with Coyote, comprised of rappers Ladies Love Guapo and Ricky Blanco, who revealed that Shaq had been a fan of their work for some time, leading to the collaboration. The rap duo had a conversation with Shaq about collaborating on a track, and he was enthusiastic about the idea.
Ladies Love Guapo explained, “[Shaq] was like, as long as it’s some hardcore stuff, I’m down. So we made a hardcore hip-hop ’90s-type song, and we thought, ‘Bro, let’s send it to Shaq.’ He got on it, did his thing, he spit like 32 bars. He went off!”
Impressed by the beat, Shaquille wasted no time and, within hours, had sent over his verse.
“Four hours later, he FaceTimed us, and he showed us his verse, and he went crazy! He’s rapping better than 90% of rappers out there,” they shared.
Shaquille O’Neal didn’t stop at just contributing his verse; he also made an appearance during the music video shoot in Los Angeles, the city where he achieved three championships during his illustrious NBA career.
“3 Lokos” marks the first collaboration between Coyote and Diesel (Shaq), but it certainly won’t be their last. Ricky Blanco revealed that they’ve already recorded a second song with Shaq and have plans to release more music in the near future. Additionally, they intend to work on a beat produced by Shaquille O’Neal himself.
Beyond his legendary basketball career, Shaq has had an impressive run in the music industry, collaborating with icons like Jay-Z, Nas, and Biggie. With this latest project, it’s clear that he’s still got the skills to make a mark in the rap world.
