Single People Not Miserable, Lonely as You Think – Toke Makinwa
Renowned media personality Toke Makinwa has called for a reevaluation of societal attitudes toward single individuals, asserting that being unmarried does not equate to being lonely or unhappy.
Using her platform on X, the media star debunked the notion that happiness is intrinsically tied to marital status. She emphasized that many single people lead fulfilling and content lives, contrary to popular belief.
As the New Year approaches, Makinwa urged her audience to abandon outdated stereotypes about singlehood. In her post, she wrote:
“Let that rubbish behaviour of thinking that single people are miserable, lonely, or sad be left in 2024. There are so many people in horrible situations (whatever you call it) that secretly wish they were alone, so let people be.”
Her message resonated with many, sparking conversations about the importance of respecting individual choices and fostering a more inclusive mindset in 2025.
