Skales Recounts Harassment by EFCC Agents During Home Invasion
Nigerian musician Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, known by his stage name Skales, recently took to his social media platform to share a concerning incident involving agents from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria.
According to Skales, EFCC agents forcefully entered his home in what they claimed was a routine check, accusing him of being involved in fraudulent activities. The artist vehemently denied the allegations.
The intrusion, which occurred on October 10, saw EFCC agents arriving at Skales’ residence with guns, in the presence of his six-month-old daughter and her mother. Skales expressed his shock and concern over the situation and stated that he had never been involved in any fraudulent activities.
In a series of social media posts, he described the incident as an attempt to oppress him, emphasizing that he is not a criminal.
Skales also expressed his fear for his safety, well-being, and the security of his family following the encounter with EFCC agents. The incident has raised questions and concerns about the approach and conduct of law enforcement agencies during such routine checks.
He wrote, “I can boldly say today with what I’ve witnessed. EFCC don’t care about naija like that cz they would be professionals if they do”. He expressed that the EFCC was a criminal organisation and that he deserves compensation for his damaged properties. As of the time of this report, there has been no official response from the EFCC.
