Taylor Swift’s ‘Tortured Poets Department’ Smashes Streaming Records on Spotify, Amazon, Apple

Taylor Swift continues her reign over the music industry as her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” shatters streaming records across major platforms including Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music.

Released on Friday, Swift’s 11th studio album achieved an unprecedented milestone, garnering 300 million streams in a single day on Spotify alone, establishing itself as the most-streamed album within just 12 hours.

Amazon Music and Apple Music also witnessed remarkable success with Swift’s album, both reporting record-breaking streaming numbers.

Apple Music hailed “The Tortured Poets Department” as the biggest pop album of all time by first-day streams, while Amazon Music declared it as the most-streamed album worldwide within its first week.

The album’s opening track, “Fortnight (feat. Post Malone),” achieved its own accolades, emerging as the most-streamed song in a single day on Spotify.

Swift surprised fans with the release of the album, announcing its April debut during her Grammy acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal Album for her 2022 release, “Midnights.”

This latest achievement adds to Swift’s already impressive record-breaking streak, with her 10th studio album, “Midnights,” previously holding the Spotify title for most-streamed artist in a single day. Additionally, her fourth rerecorded album, “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” set the record for Spotify’s most-streamed artist in a single day in 2023.

In 2023, Swift also claimed the title of Spotify’s most-streamed artist globally, amassing over 26.1 billion streams worldwide.
