They are tracking me – Singer Portable calls out bank over alleged kidnap attempt
Nigerian singer Portable has raised serious allegations against First Bank, claiming the financial institution is involved in a plot to have him kidnapped following a dispute over his locked account.
In a video shared on his Instagram before it was later taken down, the controversial artist claimed he narrowly escaped being kidnapped after visiting a branch of the bank to demand an explanation for the restriction placed on his account. According to Portable, the account in question contains over ₦400 billion intended for business transactions.
“They’re trailing me from First Bank to kidnap me,” the singer said in the clip. “What’s my offense? I don’t do fraud or scam. I only went to complain about my account. That’s a business account and there’s still more money coming in.”
He insisted that his actions were within his rights as a customer and denied any involvement in criminal activity, saying, “A customer is always right. I need help.”
The video sparked reactions online, with some expressing concern for his safety, while others questioned the staggering figure he mentioned.
Portable’s claims surfaced amid ongoing public discussions surrounding VeryDarkMan, a social media critic who was arrested on Friday, May 2, shortly after visiting a GTBank branch to report suspicious deductions from his mother’s account.
As of now, First Bank has not publicly responded to the allegations made by Portable.
