Tiwa Savage Drops First Single “Lost Time” from “Water & Garri” Soundtrack
Tiwa Savage, the renowned singer, songwriter, and actor, has unveiled “Lost Time,” the inaugural single from the forthcoming Water & Garri – The Sound Track Album. This album accompanies the feature film “Water & Garri” produced by Everything Savage and Unbound Studios, scheduled for release on May 10, 2024, on Prime Video, alongside the complete soundtrack distributed through EMPIRE.
Crafted by Khari ‘Needlz’ Cain (known for collaborations with Bruno Mars, Drake, Cardi B) and Poo Bear (renowned for work with Justin Bieber, TY Dolla, Usher), “Lost Time” is a mesmerizing, guitar-driven mid-tempo track that delves into Savage’s reflections on past love and the longing to relive happier moments.
The immersive soundtrack, curated by Savage, boasts ten original compositions featuring collaborations with luminaries from the realms of Afropop, R&B, and Hip Hop. Grammy-nominated stars Olamide and Ayra Starr, Nigerian singer-songwriter ASA, Cameroonian multi-instrumentalist Richard Bona, gospel artist Zacardi Cortez, alongside emerging talents such as Black Sherif, Young Jonn, Mystro Sugar, and The Cavemen, all contribute to the album.
“Water & Garri” marks a significant milestone in Tiwa Savage’s artistic journey as she assumes her first lead role in a feature film and serves as its Executive Producer. In the film, Savage portrays Aisha, an ambitious fashion designer who returns to her hometown ‘Eastside’ after a decade in the United States, navigating through familial loss, societal upheaval, and personal reconciliation.
