Tory Lanez Hospitalised After Prison Stabbing in California
Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has reportedly been hospitalised following a stabbing incident at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, where he is currently serving a 10-year sentence.
The altercation occurred on Monday, May 12, 2025, during a confrontation with another inmate in the prison yard. Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was transported from the facility by ambulance and is receiving medical attention. Sources indicate that his injuries are non-life-threatening.
Lanez, 32, is serving time for the 2020 shooting of American rapper Megan Thee Stallion. During the trial, Megan testified that Lanez told her to “dance” before opening fire, an account that contributed to his eventual conviction.
Authorities are currently investigating the motive behind the prison attack. Meanwhile, prison officials have yet to issue an official statement.
