Two Prominent Real Estate Brokers and Their Brother Charged in Sex Trafficking Case
Three brothers, prominent real estate brokers Tal and Oren Alexander, alongside their sibling Alon, have been charged in a disturbing federal sex trafficking case that allegedly spans over a decade. Federal prosecutors have accused the Alexander brothers of orchestrating a sex trafficking operation, using their wealth and influence to lure, drug, and sexually assault numerous women across multiple cities, including New York and Miami.
The brothers were arrested earlier this week, with Alon and Oren facing sexual battery charges, while Tal appeared briefly in a Florida federal court. Authorities expect the brothers to be transferred to federal custody following their initial state court appearances. If convicted, the brothers could face sentences ranging from 15 years to life in prison.
According to the newly unsealed federal indictment, the brothers allegedly used their status in the real estate industry to attract women, promising luxury travel, high-end accommodations, and exclusive events. Once the women were lured into these arrangements, prosecutors allege that they were drugged and assaulted, often by multiple men, including the brothers themselves. The indictment claims that the brothers carefully planned these assaults, using drugs like cocaine, mushrooms, and GHB to incapacitate their victims.
Evidence presented in court documents reveals that the Alexander brothers used social media and dating apps to reach out to women, enticing them with promises of luxury experiences. They would often pay for the women’s travel expenses and arrange for the women to attend exclusive parties. Once there, they allegedly drugged their victims and sexually assaulted them, at times recording the attacks. The indictment also highlights instances where the brothers conspired with other men to “import” women for international trips to places like Tulum, Mexico, where similar assaults occurred.
In addition to the trafficking charges, the brothers are facing accusations of conspiring to drug and sexually assault women, including an incident in 2016, where Oren allegedly drugged a victim’s drink, rendering her unable to fight back as he assaulted her. Investigators discovered conversations on the brothers’ iCloud accounts detailing plans for such trips, including discussions of drug use and sexual exploitation.
Tal Alexander is separately charged in connection with a 2011 incident involving a different victim in the Hamptons. Prosecutors allege that after drugging the woman, she was held down and assaulted by Tal and another man. The victim later regained consciousness outside the house, unable to remember much of the event, but recalling specific traumatic details of the assault.
Legal representatives for the Alexander brothers have denied the charges. Oren Alexander’s attorney, Susan Necheles, stated that the evidence would prove his client’s innocence. Attorneys for Tal and Alon Alexander also confirmed their arrests but declined to comment further. A spokesperson for their former employer, Douglas Elliman, did not respond to requests for comment.
This case follows several civil lawsuits filed against the Alexander brothers, where multiple women have accused them of sexual assault. The brothers’ high-profile careers in real estate, especially at Douglas Elliman, have been tarnished by the allegations, which have led to a significant drop in the company’s stock price.
As the legal proceedings unfold, prosecutors are seeking to keep the brothers in custody, describing them as flight risks with access to private jets and international connections. Authorities are working to ensure that the brothers face justice for the alleged crimes, which have spanned over 20 years and affected dozens of women.
The case continues to develop, and further details are expected as the trial progresses.
