USMNT Adds 2 European Reinforcements to its Squad Only 8 Days Before Qatar 2022 Kicks Off

Despite travelling to Qatar with 9 players from Major League Soccer which just concluded last weekend with the LAFC title, the USMNT now have 11 players, with two arrivals from LaLiga.

As reported by Marca, the first to arrive was Yunus Musah, a midfielder from Valencia of Spain, who arrived after playing time in last Thursday’s 3-0 win over Betis. He was immediately released by his team to join the U.S. squad, which will make its debut against Wales on November 21.

The second is midfielder Luca de la Torre, who plays for Celta de Vigo, although he is one of the doubts Berhalter has when putting together his final list of 26 players, due to the fact that he is still recovering from a muscle rupture in his left hamstring.

In order to count on the rest of its players, the U.S. National Team hopes that, starting this Sunday when all the leagues in the world are suspended to pause for the start of the World Cup, the squad will be completed in order to finalize the details for the match against Wales.

Four days later, on November 25, the United States will play against group leaders England and finally, on November 29, they will play Iran.

Experts consider that the USMNT will dispute the second available ticket in the group against Wales, after England is the favorite to advance as leader.
