WhatsApp to Introduce Message Limit Feature for Broadcast Chats

WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to limit the number of messages sent during a broadcast session. Currently in its beta phase, the feature is expected to roll out to all users in a future update.

The broadcast feature on WhatsApp enables users to send a single message to multiple contacts individually, without creating a group chat. With the upcoming message limit feature, WhatsApp aims to give users more control over their broadcast sessions by capping the number of messages that can be sent per session.

Spotted in the WhatsApp Android beta version 2.25.10.8, the feature introduces a monthly cap on messages sent via broadcast. For example, in a 30-day session, users may be restricted to sending a fixed number of messages. An alert will appear at the top of the chat, displaying the remaining message count for the session.

Users will be able to manage this setting through the app’s settings menu or directly within broadcast chats. WhatsApp will also provide a real-time counter, showing the number of messages sent within a given month.

Although the feature is still undergoing testing, beta users can access it through the Google Play Beta Program. Once fully rolled out, it is expected to enhance message management for broadcast users, ensuring more controlled and efficient communication.
