American rapper Cardi B recently sparked debate on social media after claiming that men tend to prefer less conventionally attractive women because they are perceived as more submissive.
In a live stream, the “WAP” hitmaker suggested that men find it easier to control women who are not considered “perfect 10s.”
“Men prefer less attractive women because they are more submissive than perfect 10s,” she stated during the session.
Following the live stream, Cardi B elaborated on the topic in a post on X (formerly Twitter). She explained that her commentary was inspired by a conversation with a man who confessed he prefers dating women he rated as “6s” rather than “10s” because they are less intimidating and easier to manage. She also linked this preference to some men’s discomfort with women who are financially independent.
The rapper’s remarks come amid a turbulent period in her personal life. Cardi B recently filed for divorce from her husband, fellow rapper Offset, citing repeated infidelity as the reason for their separation.
