Wizkid and Falz Speak on The #ENDSARS Protest and Memorial
The second-year memorial of the END SARS protest that saw many Nigerians lose their lives in a walk for change and reforms in the now disbanded unit of the Nigerian Police Force, which was referred to as SARS, was held today, Thursday, October 20, 2022, and numerous artists have reacted to the memorial sharing their thoughts on the protest and how important it was to Nigerians.
Musician Falz who had been at the forefront of the protest on the 20th of October 2020, explained the importance of the memorial in an interview with newsmen. He revealed that the #ENDSARS movement is not a political movement in any way, indicating that the movement has never been affiliated with any political party.
He goes on to add that those who had committed the crime had not been held accountable in any way after it had been confirmed by the panel set up that there were, in fact, questionable acts carried out by the government and the armed forces in a released report.
Wizkid took to his social media platform to share a picture in remembrance of the protest with a message that showed how heartbroken the grammy award-winning singer was.
The message had simply read:
“Never forget”
