Nike Reveals Kobe 9 EM Protro “Hydrogen Blue” Ahead of Spring Release
Nike has unveiled a new colourway of its Kobe 9 EM Protro sneaker, as part of a broader lineup of Kobe releases planned for 2026. The latest edition, dubbed “Hydrogen Blue,” is expected to arrive later this spring.
The reveal comes amid renewed excitement around Kobe Bryant’s signature line. Earlier this month, Nike released the Kobe 9 EM “Purple Dynasty,” while fans are also anticipating upcoming Kobe 8 “Year of the Horse” models. The brand continues to balance performance and lifestyle appeal, though recent Kobe 9 EM Protro releases appear to be geared more towards on-court use.

The “Hydrogen Blue” colourway features a soft blue tone across its engineered mesh upper and midsole. Lighter blue accents appear on the outsole and interior lining, giving the shoe a team-inspired look that aligns with Nike’s recent design approach. The shades of blue have drawn comparisons to the historic Minneapolis Lakers era, though the colour scheme is not an exact match.

Nike is expected to release the Kobe 9 EM Protro “Hydrogen Blue” during the Spring 2026 season, with industry sources suggesting a February launch. The sneaker is priced at $190.
Further details, including official images and a confirmed release date, are expected from Nike in the coming weeks.
